Online VR in the metaverse
My experience with VR design and online events in the world of cryptoart.
It’s been a while since i last wrote a post, this one is about my recent experience with the metaverse in which I worked as a VoxelArchitect since some months.
At the moment I work on the cryptovoxels metaverse but the world of Ethereum offers many options, like decentraland and somnium space and the most similar to cryptovoxels, The Sandbox.
The reason why I chose to work on cryptovoxels at the start was a matter of accessibility, this was actually the only metaverse on the ethereum blockchain that’s viewable and enjoyable from mobile, but the interactions are very limited on it, the only way to articulate complicated interactions is via Javascript scripts.
Decentraland and somnium space are very enjoayable, but only from a PC or using a VR headset, both of them are used for Art Galleries displaying NFT (non fungible token) art from ethereum and both of them were built for gaming interactions and often host videogames that use NFTs as in game assets, the same can be said about the sandbox, which was launched very recently on the binance launchpad (along with its own token, $SAND) and has attracted immediately the interest of many big investors, like Atari.
About cryptovoxels I must say it’s very limited on the design side also, but there’s something challenging for a designer to work with strong limitations, as long as it comes with the ability to amplify the audience who’s gonna take advantage of the created experience.
In that sense I would say that working on the metaverse is more similar to designing experiences and event than to just “build“, if this could mean that I’m doing an (voxel)architect work it may be in the higher level of what this word means.
In the meantime I admit that working with Voxel art is intriguig, and MagicaVoxel has a playful community, that shares generators, shaders and tips for rendering, along with astonishing art often built for the Minecraft game.
Surfing that community was very inspirational, and I was able to share some material along with all the inspirations I share on the Nestedneons cyberpunk blog, where I work as editor and art curator since august.
Commissions
I take commissions for these works, and they’re very often requested, I really enjoy using my 3D design experise to build experience, and that’s the reason for this post, I decided to take commissions in Hive, for the hive community, you can go to my profile and click on Actions -> send hive to start working with me (or you can binance to send the money directly on the @jilt account of the blockchain, you’ll need just to type my name, litterally 🙂
I usually ask for 30%-50% of payment upfront and my rates are aroud 500$ for 1 plot and one megavoxel design.
If you feel like your needs are to be better articulated feel free to send me an email and explain better!
